Hermann Athletic Center Renovation

William Peace University | Raleigh, North Carolina

When William Peace University (formerly Peace College) became a co-educational institution, a significant renovation to the existing athletic center was required to meet the needs of campus athletics and recreation.

CRA assisted the University in designing renovations and additions to the facility to meet their growing needs. A larger public lobby and lounge space was added, additional lockers were provided, and the under-utilized natatorium was converted to a multi-purpose court. Significant deterioration had occurred to many of the exterior wood components of the 50 year old building, so portions of the building were reconstructed to comply with the building’s historic designation. The design and construction was completed in less than six months and was ready for the start of the academic year.
