Historic Fetzer Stadium has undergone a major reconstruction to meet the requirements of UNC’s nationally acclaimed soccer and lacrosse programs.
As a part of a larger Central Campus Athletics project, CRA redeveloped Fetzer Stadium into a state-of-the-art soccer and lacrosse facility. The track and field components of the existing stadium were relocated to another part of UNC’s campus providing opportunities to enlarge and enhance the playing area and spectator seating. As a result, a 4200-seat stadium with a new press box and a toilet/concessions/team building was created. The team building provides locker rooms, sports medicine space, players’ lounge, meeting space and coaches’ offices for men’s and women’s soccer programs and the women’s lacrosse program.
