Developed by a 50-member committee of educators, parents, students and citizens, Smith Middle School meets the educational needs of the 21st century and provides sustainable educational space for generations to come.
The educational theme of the school is global connections, and the facility helps reinforce the theme by providing the students firsthand experience with sustainable building elements that show how energy savings and conservation techniques can make a positive impact on the way we live and how we interact with the world. Located between Seawell Elementary School and Chapel Hill High School, the construction of 125,000 square foot middle school has completed the creation of a K-12 campus complex.
