The Chatham County Justice Center has been carefully designed to fit into historic downtown Pittsboro and will provide state-of-the-art judicial facilities for decades.
It consolidates the offices of the Clerk of Superior Court, District Attorney, Public Defender and Community Corrections and other judicial staff. A total of four courtrooms and three hearing rooms will provide the District with ample judicial spaces in this growing county. The exterior emulates but does not copy the historic courthouse located at the center of a round-about just to the north of the project. The center of the new building has an axial relationship with the historic facility.
