Apex Electric Operations Center

Town of Apex | Apex, North Carolina

A new home for the Town’s Electric Utility Department

The Apex Electric Operations Center relocates the town’s electric utility department from the existing Public Works campus to a new facility specifically designed for them. The campus includes three pre-engineered metal buildings: the main building which includes office space, crew rooms, shop areas and warehouse space, a vehicle storage building and a material storage building. The 21,000 square foot main building is highlighted by a beacon-like main entrance and lobby, which houses a large collection of awards and trophies from industry competitions. The training room can accommodate over 50 people for safety and operational training sessions. The vehicle storage building accommodates up to eight service trucks plus trailers and has an adjacent truck wash facility. The material storage building is an open-air structure for the storage of electrical materials and components.
